Lion King

Landsborough State School students transported audiences to the heart of the African savannah with a remarkable rendition of Disney’s ‘The Lion King Jr’. The school’s hall was transformed with awesome African artwork, which set the scene for two sold-out shows. The musical brought the story of Simba to life through authentic music, elaborate costumes and striking visuals. The whole school production saw all classes from Prep through to Year 6 perform, which meant every single student had a part to play in the performance.

Under the leadership of Creative Industries teacher, Miss Brook, and teacher-aide, Miss Haley,  students played their roles to perfection and sang classic tunes made famous by the Broadway production and film, including ‘Hakuna Matata’ and ‘Circle of Life’.  ‘The Lion King Jr.’ highlighted the incredible musical, theatrical and artistic talents of students, in addition to the stellar level of arts instruction they are receiving at Landsborough State School.

It took an army of adult volunteers to aid in making all the costumes, set pieces and applying makeup; but the hard work paid off! The school wishes to thank all the students, staff, parents and community members who helped make the production such a huge success.
